Mother Nature

She offers her precious elements and provides us an environment to live, love and play.

She gives us roots through her earth - fertile lands, lush rainforests and arid deserts.

She provides healing through her waters - cascading waterfalls, immense oceans and flowing rivers.

She ignites us through her radiant fire - warmth, strength and passion from the sun.

She gifts us space through and freedom and endless horizons - rolling hills, vast plains and high mountain tops.

She provides us life through air - oxygen and breath.

Mother Nature is the ultimate dichotomy - the power of crashing waves against jagged cliffs and the sweetness of a quiet morning sunrise.

She embodies the divine feminine with her unconditional love and support…

But what happens when the relationship between humans becomes too heavy to support? When the masses and unconscious attitudes take advantage of this precious Earth so much that it begins to backfire? When we literally destruct the planet through our own action, only to notice it far too late?

Each one of us, as small as we may feel at times, in comparison to this incredible force of nature have the power to change the outcome for generations to come.

Just as we can destruct, we can also create.

Shifting your perspective is the first transformation you can make.

While walking along a beach, an elderly gentleman saw someone in the distance leaning down, picking something up and throwing it into the ocean. As he got closer, he noticed that the figure was that of a young man, picking up starfish one by one and tossing each one gently back into the water. He came closer still and called out, “Good morning! May I ask what it is that you are doing?” The young man paused, looked up, and replied “Throwing starfish into the ocean.” The old man smiled, and said, “I must ask, then, why are you throwing starfish into the ocean?” To this, the young man replied, “The sun is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them in, they’ll die.”

Upon hearing this, the elderly observer commented, “But, young man, do you not realise that there are miles and miles of beach and there are starfish all along every mile? You can’t possibly make a difference!” The young man listened politely. Then he bent down, picked up another starfish, threw it into the back into the ocean past the breaking waves and said, “It made a difference for that one.”

Be kind to our Mother and she will be kind to us. Remember that our relationships are a direct mirror reflection of our own actions and energy.

Simple actions that are accessible every day are ones that will make the most impact. For example, being conscious of water consumption, turnings lights off, using BPA free re-usable bottles, recycling trash/clothing/furniture when possible. Gain inspiration from the many environmental movements happening right now. Learn new ways in which you can become more eco-conscious within your own home, lifestyle and community.

Make everyday Earth Day…

Make your footprint small. Make them positive. Leave this Earth more healthy than you found it and provide a sacred space for the next generations to come.
