The internet is an incredible tool that can be key in personal growth and networking when used with the right intentions. Just as there is plenty of useless and false information circling the world wide web, there is as much inspiration and truth which can aid you in personal development and taking steps towards making life changing experiences.
Below are my personal top 3 favorites sites which I believe all yoga teachers (or yogis) would benefit from knowing and visiting often.
For knowledge, inspiration and thoughts on everything and anything within the world of health. MBG offers content written by experts to bloggers (and everywhere in between) which blends together a mix of perspectives, writing styles and topics -- however they are always quality and written in a positive light.
2. Yoga Trade
This may be one of the internets best kept secrets for us yogis! Yoga Trade (started by the fearless and gracious, Erica Hartnick) bridges together teachers and venues (retreats, hotels, studios) and offers live opportunities for jobs related within the world of holistic health (not just yoga teachers but chefs, massage therapists, etc.) and offers all types of opportunities from paid jobs, exchange and volunteer based. I would personally recommend everyone uses Yoga Trade once in their life - you will learn wonders about yourself and teaching when in a new context and outside your comfort zone (read tips for teaching abroad here). Yoga Trade can give you the network and stability you need to shift your reality for 1 week - 10 years (!) and make yoga and travel an attainable lifestyle.
A priceless tool for yoga teachers, TY provides an ever-evolving space for self-study, inspiration and guidance. Created by the lovely Elena Brower, TY is an online platform that not only provides resources and streamlines quality trainings with some of the best practitioners in the world, but includes sweet treats once you sign up to be a part of their community.
