As a mama, a yoga teacher, a lover of life, and an adventurer, Kirsty believes we all have a gift to share. After teaching for 10 years, and practicing for 20, she knows her calling is sharing yoga and meditation. Whether through movement or stillness, our capacity and willingness to awaken a state of meditation is key. Svadhyaya, the practice of self-study, has taught her that we choose, in any moment, our inner state. Her aim is to design her state, empower those around her, work hard and self-nourish, always remain a student and lead by example.
Kirsty's ability to hold space for her students in a gentle and loving way, reveals her true inner strength.
Her heartfelt gratitude goes out to all the teachers in her life and the experiences she's had which have led her to be able to share what she loves most. Her teachings are always evolving, however connecting to the heart and our highest truths are always present.
Kirsty is the founder of Yoga Luxe, a gift site that gives back 5% of every purchase to charity, a proud ambassador for Wellicious and she has taught everywhere from beaches, at festivals, to jumping on stage last minute when someone didn't turn up to teach at Om Yoga Show. Kirsty has been featured in Italian Vogue and published in Elephant Journal.
Lauren is passionate about holistic health, exploring the world and empowering others to live vibrant and happy lives.
She is a sun chaser, loves adventure, lives for connection and indulges in simple pleasures.
She is founder of Raise Your Beat, an online platform for inspiration through holistic health and teaches workshops and retreats around the world.
Lauren first stepped onto a yoga mat while in University during the bitter cold New England winters and as soon as she graduated she fed her appetite for travel and fulfilled a dream of traveling to India. She began her journey in India volunteering for Lotus, a small yoga retreat center on a pristine beach lined with palm trees. Lauren became instantly enchanted by her new home: Mother India and her smells, yoga in all shapes, forms and styles and the thrill of living in an exotic country. It was then that she became aware of an entirely new way of living: a life more simple, spiritual and healthy in both body & mind.
Her experience in India fed a fast growing appetite for yoga and she never looked back.
Lauren is dedicated to teaching the traditional practices of yoga in an accessible, creative and inspiring way. She strives to share the same connection yoga offers her: a practice to help release parts of her she no longer needs, and to create space for more nourishing qualities such as compassion, kindness, patience and clarity.
Lauren's Asana teachings reflect a fusion of breath, movement and stillness. Through her alignment based Vinyasa Flow she aims to bring accessibility to all students, with modifications to intensify or simplify any given posture. Through intelligent sequencing, Lauren encourages students to explore their bodies and breath to build inner strength, clarity and grace. Lauren places emphasis on Vedic philosophy and effortlessly integrates the ancient traditions in creative and inspiring ways.
Her intention is to create a positive, empowering and awakening space to open your hearts and minds through Asana (physical postures), Pranayama (mindful breathing) or Dhyana (meditation).
Lauren believes you can only teach what you know from personal experience — she is constantly learning from the incredible people who she has been honored to meet along the way and allow her to endlessly evolve through her own practice, and teachings.
Lauren follows her passion on a daily basis - sharing yoga and living her truth to the best of her ability.
Ithaca (Ithaki) dreams happily between Kefallonia and mainland Greece. The word Ithaca in Greek means 'reference point'. The island is celebrated as the mythical home of Homer’s Odysseus, where loyal wife Penelope waited patiently, for Odysseus’ much-delayed homecoming. Ithaca is one of the smallest in the Ionian island constellation that is radiating with Grecian authenticity. This tranquil island is made up of two large bodies of land joined by a narrow isthmus - sheer cliffs with turquoise waters below, secret coves, arid mountains and olive groves make up this Ionian jewel.
Itha108 overlooks the sea and the eastern coastline of neighbouring Kefalonia, from an elevated wilderness of olive trees and exposed rocks that provide the elements around which it is built, allowing its natural beauty to speak for itself. An emphasis on indoor-outdoor living ensures full use of the land and its treasures that extend to sweeping and hidden beaches below. Itha108 is a space specifically for peace, relaxation and practice.
The food philosophy at Itha108 is fresh, sumptuous and made up of local produce. All vegetables are organic and sourced from the best of what Ithaca and neighbouring Kefalonia has to offer. Plentiful, vegetarian, home-cooked menus blend traditional Greek cuisine with a contemporary style.
Guests can choose to pamper themselves with a treatment, relax on a sun bed with a book or explore the 5 different beaches that lie within 5 minutes walking distance. Itha108 is a blend of luxury and comfort, immersed in nature and overlooking the crystal blue waters of the Ionian Sea, Itha108 offers a deeply nourishing experience for your holiday.
